Since 1985, THai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) had set up the maintenance center for wide-body aircraft i.e. Airbus A300, Boeing 737/747 at Bangkok International Airport. THAI repair station shall be operated under Technical Department and it should be satisfied by the requirements or regulations of authorities concerning the airworthiness that require maintenance of precision tool and equipment used at their base.

THAI Aircraft Standard Calibration and Measurement Group (Reference Standards Laboratory Group) has been in operation since July 1986. There are two major laboratories being extension parts under the Aircraft Standard Calibration and Measurement Group and report to Component Overhaul Department. The laboratories were designed to provide the calibration and maintenance facility capable for supporting complex electrical and mechanical test equipment associated with the maintenance of the said aircraft and some other new types, Airbus A330/340/380 and Boeing 777.
